Guwahati, Punakha and Paro Tour Itinerary

Day 1
After reaching Guwahati Airport at 11.30 am drive straight to Phuentsholling (7 hrs drive). It is the border of India & Bhutan. On the way you will find some Land of breathtaking beauty, sloping tea gardens with spectacular views. Check into hotel. Evening free to roam around Mall or local Shopping center. Over Night stay at Phuentsholling.
Day 2
After early morning breakfast obtain permit with assistance from our representative and proceed for Thimphu (4 ½ - 5 hrs drive). The drive is beautiful, and one can see some waterfalls along the way is a charming city, probably the smallest capital in the world, resting in the heart of the Himalayas. The skyline hardly changes as new buildings are all constructed in traditional Bhutanese style. It is situated in the western central part of Bhutan which is a lively place, interesting combination of tradition and modernity. Check into your hotel on arrival. Overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu.
Day 3
After early morning breakfast visit to the National Memorial Chorten built in honour of our late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk and the Dupthop Lhakhang. One can visit the National Library, stocked with ancient Buddhist manuscripts, and the Painting School where traditional art is still kept alive through instructions in the art of painting Thangkas. After lunch visit Traditional Medicine Institute and to Lungtenzampa. Visit to the Tashichho Dzong, seat of the national government and the Central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo. The Tashichho Dzong is open to visitors only in winter when the Je Khenpo and the monks move to Punakha the ancient winter capital of Bhutan. Drive to Simtokha Dzong and visit the Handicrafts emporium. Night stay at Thimphu.
Day 4
After early morning breakfast proceed Punakha & visit Dochu La Pass. Visit the new Druk Wangyal Monastery. With elaborate paintings depicting the lineage of the present monarchy and their visionary works, the Druk Wangyal Monastery is the only one of its kind in the country. Visit Punakha suspension bridge, Punakha Dzong and proceed to Paro (3½ - 4 hrs drive). Check into your hotel. Evening at leisure. Night stay in hotel / resort in Paro
Day 5
The main tourist attractions in Paro are Nya-mey Zam or “the bridge with no fish” - Ta Dzong, “Ta” means to see / watch and “dzong” means fortress - Dungtse Lhankhang - Drukgyel Dzong or “fortress of the victorious Drukpass” - Kyichu Lhakhang - Kila Gompa - Druk Choeding - Next Rinpung Dzong or “the fortress of the heap of jewels”- Then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong situated at commanding height, overlooking Paro valley - This Dzong is symbolic as the religious and secular centre of all affairs of the valley. Late afternoon back to hotel. One can visit Tiger nest instead of visiting other site seen in Paro. Evening at leisure. Night stay in hotel / resort in Paro
